Kano Sharia Court Imprisons DJ for Disrupting Students' Studies in Islamiyya School

 A Kano state Sharia Court sitting in Dambare located in the Ungogo LGA of the state, has remanded a DJ, Ali Dan-Asabe, for disrupting studies and other activities in an Islamiyya school in the state. Dan-Asabe was forced to appear before the Sharia Court by the police following complaint tendered by the school's management that his music distracted and disrupted the academic activities of the pupils.  According to the prosecutor, the school's principal had approached DJ Dan-Asabe a number of times imploring him to reduce the volume of his music. The DJ failed to listen and instead, mischievously chose to turn up the volume of his music. Witnesses had claimed that the DJ had turned up the volume to the point where the children could not hear their teachers and vice versa.

While in Court, DJ Ali Dan-Asabe pled guilty to charges of disruption and constitution of public nuisance. The presiding Magistrate, Munzali Idris Gwadabe, ordered that Dan-Asabe be remanded and adjourned the case to July 6 for sanctioning. Kano state has one of the strongest Sharia Courts in the country and expects faithful Muslims and residents to adhere to the tenets of Sharia law.
