Popular investigative journalist, David Hundeyin has reacted to the new Student Loan Bill signed into law by Bola Tinubu.
An aide to Tinubu, Dele Alake disclosed on Monday evening, June 12 that the bill will enable Nigerian students access loans at interest-free rates.
He also said the bill would boost the educational pursuit of the youths across the country, adding that to enjoy the student loan, the applicant must show evidence of being indigent.
But reacting, Hundeyin who took to his Twitter handle to critique Tinubu’s Student Loan Act. According to him, the stringent conditions attached to accessing the student loan makes it unrealistic. He said the new law lacks genuine interest of the Nigerian students.

Association of Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has also supported David Hundeyin claim. ASUU accuses the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu as deliberately increasing tuition fees for Nigerian students. According to the group, the student loan Act will result in hike in the tuition fees of Federal Universities and State Universities.
