Leading mobile network operator, Airtel Nigeria, has announced the official launch the fifth generation (5G) technology network in the country.
The company promised that the new technology will deliver super-fast data services, while redefining services in other sectors of the economy including medicine, agric, and others.
Airtel is the third operator on the 5G network in Nigeria, with MTN Nigeria leading the way followed by Mafab Communications.
Airtel Nigeria Chief Commercial Officer, Femi Oshinlaja, at the launch said 5G services will be available in four major cities of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Ogun and Rivers States.
He added that services would be extended to other parts of the country subsequently.
