Drama In Osun As Governor Adeleke And Ex-Senator Clash Over Seats In Eid-El-Kabir Prayer Ground

 There was tension at the Osogbo Eid praying ground on Wednesday as a disagreement over sitting arrangements led to a clash between some aides of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and an ex-spokesperson of the Senate, Dr. Ajibola Basiru.



It was gathered that Senator Basiru arrived at the Eid-el-Kabir praying ground before the prayers commenced.


He came together with some prominent Osogbo indigenes for the prayers.  


Some of Governor Adeleke's aides were said to have informed him he was occupying the spot reserved for Adeleke and was asked to move to the second row.

According to reports, there was a brief disagreement, but Senator Basiru later left his seat and moved to another row.


It was gathered that the aides were still not satisfied with where he sat as they insisted that the other aides must occupy all the front rows.


As at the time the drama was going on, Governor Adeleke had not arrived at the premises but upon arrival, he who was ushered into the praying ground by Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Dr Tunde Badmus.


But he could not proceed to the front row as the disagreement was still ongoing between his aides and the former Senator.


The governor was said to have angrily left the venue as his convoy was seen driving out of the area before the prayers started.


The police were said to have stepped in and locked the entrance to the prayer ground, as there were claims that an order had come for Basiru’s arrest, but the entrance was later opened and the participants left the premises.
