Big Brother Naija reality star, social media influencer and talkshow host, Maria Chike Benjamin, is expecting her first child with lover, Kelvin Anene. The former reality star posted a photo of her baby bump on Instagram with the caption ''This chapter is called blessed. With our hearts filled with so much love and happiness we can't wait to meet you". Congratulatory messages and well wishes have been sent Maria's way from her fellow Big Brother Naija former housemates as well as other Nigerian celebrities and influencers.

Maria Chike Benjamin's romantic relationship with Kelvin Anene became the subject of public scrutiny after celebrity barman Cubana Chiefpriest, called her out on social media for snatching Kelvin from his wife. According to Cubana Chiefpriest, Kelvin's wife Onyinyechi Maryanne Obi Anene was his own sister with whom Kelvin had two children, he accused Maria of wrecking his sister's home. Reports from Kelvin's relative however indicate that Kelvin's marriage to Cubana Chiefpriest's sister, ended in 2018, years before Kelvin met Maria. Cubana Chiefpriest has repeatedly labelled this information false and is vehement in insisting that Kelvin's marriage to his sister hit the rocks as a result of his extramarital affair with Maria Chike Benjamin.
