A 41 year old manager of SEAP Microfinance Bank located in Saki Oyo state, has committed suicide. The manager identified as Sola Ogungbe, reportedly took his own life after customers failed to repay loans issued them by the bank. Before his decision to end his life, Ogungbe had first stopped reporting for duty at bank for a couple of days until his colleagues had phoned his wife to find out why. Upon arriving home to inform her husband of the call, Ogungbe's wife had discovered his lifeless body. The mode through which Sola Ogungbe chose to end his life, remains undisclosed to the public. The incident occurred on Thursday 15th June, 2023.

Sola's wife and close friends claimed to have be completely unaware of his struggles with defaulting clients at the office. They also claimed not to have noticed any change in Sola's behaviour or interaction with people. Hence the news of his suicide had been shockingly received. Mourners sympathetically wondered why the bank manager had failed to ask for help with the predicament which had led to taking his own life. The deceased has been taken to his hometown in Omu-Aran, Kwara State for burial.
