Video:American Rapper Big Pokey Collapses on Stage; Dies at 45

 American Rapper Milton Powell, better known by his stage name Big Pokey, has passed away. The 45 year old Texan born rapper collapsed in the early hours of Sunday June 18 2023 while performing at a bar in Beaumont, Texas. He was unconscious and taken to a hospital, where he was later confirmed dead. Big Pokey's manager who  shared a statement on behalf of the rapper's family, announced his death to the public while  stating that they are waiting for autopsy results. The deceased rapper's manager also added that the public will be informed on funeral arrangements and how they can pay last respect to Big Pokey.

Big Pokey was associated with chopped and screwed music, and was one of the original members of the Screwed Up Click. Big Pokey began rapping with Houston producer DJ Screw in the early 1990s releasing songs on many of DJ Screw's mixtapes. Big Pokey was featured on DJ Screw's mixtape "June 27th Freestyle" which became a landmark album in chopped and screwed hip hop. In 2005, Pokey was featured on Paul Wall's track "Sittin' Sidewayz" which peaked at #93 on US Billboard Hot 100.
