3 Missing Medical Students Confirmed Dead In Calabar Cruise Ride


 The three medical students who went missing after their boat capsized during a cruise on Saturday in Calabar has been confirmed dead.


The Cross River State Police Commissioner, Gyogon Augustine Grimah confirmed this in a statement.


It would be recalled that thirteen medical students across different universities in Nigeria were involved in the boat accident, with ten of them rescued alive as soon as the boat capsized with three missing.

According to reports, locals saw the floating bodies on Monday morning and immediately alerted Marine Police.


The Cross River CP said they recovered the bodies of two males and one female, noting that the bodies will be kept under proper care and contact made with relevant families before handover.


The medical students travelled to Calabar last week for the annual Nigeria Medical Students Association Health Week.


The yearly programme had this year's edition hosted in Calabar with various activities, including educational and social activities.


Part of the social activities was a visit to the Marina Resorts, with some students deciding to enjoy a cruise ride in the resort.
