In a video gradually making the rounds on the, internet, Journalist and anchor of The Arise TV News, Rufai Oseni has during an interview, left former Zamfara state governor and senator-elect Abdul'Aziz Yari speechless after a confrontation as regards the latter's ineptitude while he was governor of his state. Rufai Oseni queried the senator-elect on his supposed competence as to vying for the position of senate president of the federal republic of Nigeria. Abdul-Aziz alongside other politicians is currently in the race to become senate president.

Rufai Oseni confronted the former governor of Zamfara with statistics stating Zamfara state has a 92% poverty rate, which is one of the highest percentages in the country. The journalist further stated that if the former governor was unable to bring development to his own state despite news of his generosity at flamboyant functions, it was unfair of him to ask that the fate on entire citizens of the country be placed in his incompetent hands. In response to the accusation, the former governor and senator-elect had spluterred incoherently and finally stated that Zamfara was not the only poor state in Nigeria. He later went to ask what his being governor had to do with becoming the Senate president as there had been governor's before him who failed to bring development to the state.
