Following the arrest of Afrobeats singer and instrumentalist Seun Kuti, for assaulting a police officer on the third mainland bridge in Lagos, it seems another citizen of the country has borrowed a leaf from the singer's "violent" book. In a post on Twitter, Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force Benjamin Hundenyin, has revealed that a woman was arrested in Ogombo, a suburb of Eti-Osa local government area of Lagos, for assaulting a policeman on Monday 15th May, 2023. The assault and subsequent arrest come just one day after the video recording of Seun Kuti assaulting a police officer went viral.

According to Benjamin Hundenyin, Olufumilayo Brioluwa who was arrested for assaulting a police officer was earlier today, arraigned at the Eti-Osa Magistrate Court and will be remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility until 6th June, when the charge of assault against the accused will be officially tried. Netizens have expressed mixed reactions to the news of the arrest of Ms Brioluwa, with many expressing concerns as to whether the Nigeria Police Force arrested the accused on true charges of assault and not on some kind of vendetta against citizens as a result of Seun Kuti's assault of a police officer just a day before.
