27 Year old Hilda Iniobong Bassey better known as Hilda Baci, owner of the food brand MyFood by Hilda, is currently undertaking a "cook-a-thon" in order to break the Guinness World Records for longest cooking time by an individual. Hilda is to cook nonstop for four days between Thursday 11th and Monday 15th May 2023. Her goal is to surpass the current cooking time held by current record titleholder Indian Chef, Lata Tondon, who cooked for a record breaking nonstop period of 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019. At the time of this writing Hilda had been cooking for 64 hours and counting at the Amore Gardens Lekki amidst support from family, friends, co-chefs, celebrities, influencers and well-meaning Nigerians. Hilda is left with roughly 23 hours to break the Guinness World Records.

So far, Hilda has cooked over 110 meals which have served more than 2,795 people present at the venue of the Cook-a-thon. The meals are freely served to these guests and cheerleaders. In the course of the cooking, the chef is not allowed to ingest any form of stimulant or energy drinks to boost physical strength. She's however permitted to eat food, drink water, fruit juice or glucose. Many side attractions have been provided by Hilda's friends and well-wishers to keep the young chef from getting exhausted. A yoga instructor also helped channel her energy.
People all over the world are rooting for Hilda. See photos from her ongoing Cook-a-thon:
