Photos: King Charles III Officially Crowned King of England

 Son of Elizabeth II deceased Queen of England, Charles III, has been officially and publicly crowned King of England. Charles III was crowned King of England with his wife Duchess of Cornwall Camilla, as Queen Consort The two-hour ceremony - the first to crown a monarch in 70 years - was watched on TV around the world, as well as some 2,300 people inside the Abbey. Dignitaries and political from various parts of the world, attended this iconic coronation. Charles had acceded the throne on 8 September 2022, upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II who was longest serving monarch in British history.

During his mother, Queen Elizabeth's reign, Charles III was the longest-serving British heir apparent, having surpassed Edward VII's record of 59 years on 20 April 2011. When he became monarch at the age of 73, Charles was the oldest person to do so, the previous record holder being William IV, who was 64 when he became king in 1830. Charles' son, William, Prince of Wales is now the heir apparent to the British throne.
