Passengers Stranded Due To Abuja Runway Closure in a Max Air Incident

Many people were left delayed at airports throughout the nation as a result of yesterday's collision landing of a Max Air plane carrying 144 passengers and six crew members at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja after the tyre allegedly caught fire.

After the event, the runway was closed, leaving passengers stranded whether they were traveling to or from Abuja.

"Max Air crash-lands in Abuja Airport," tweeted one of the stranded travelers in Kano under the handle @Kalifarabiu. According to reports, the plane's tires caught fire as it touched down on the runway.

"Either every flight to Abuja has been canceled or delayed. The airline abruptly cancelled yesterday's trip without informing us, leaving me and other passengers trapped in the Aminu Kano Airport with no word from them. No emails or messages please.

Mohammed Jammal @whitenigerian, a different passenger, said that a plane crash-landed at Abuja Airport when a tire exploded after takeoff from Yola. All of the passengers have disembarked safely. Alhamdulilah.”
