A video of an interview Emdee Tiamiyu gave to the BBC (British broadcasting commission) went viral on social media, making the Nigerian YouTuber trending online.
Keep in mind that beginning of Tuesday, May 23, the UK government will no longer allowed Nigerians and other foreign students to travel with family members or dependents while completing a Master’s degree program.
Under the new regulation, which will go into effect in January 2024, the UK will also eliminate the option for international students to switch from the student path and into work routes before their studies are over in order to prevent visa system abuse.

Emdee Tiamiyu, who talked with the BBC, supported the restriction while asserting that the majority of Nigerian immigrants to the UK use schooling as a ruse to enter the nation.
He said;
“So the student thing is not real. It is not like they need the degrees.
“They need the degree as an access road to come into the country, so a lot of these people their priorities shifted real fast.”
Francis Ebuara, a user of the social media platform Twitter, wrote: "Dear BBC, Nigerians have been made aware of a video displaying your interview with one "Emdee Tiamiyu," who said that Nigerians do not go to the UK because they require the degree. To be clear, your interviewee has only talked for himself and not for all Nigerians.
