In a video gradually making the rounds on the internet, a vendor hawking vegetables had been confronted by a passerby for washing the vegetables with stagnant water from a nearby filthy gutter. The vendor who flared up in anger retorted that she had been washing the vegetables with water from gutters in the last 5 years of hawking the vegetables. She also ignored warnings and pleas by the passerby to stop the unhygienic act of washing the vegetables with stagnant water from the gutter.

Netizens have reacted with shock and disgust at the video with many demanding that the vendor in the video be found and arrested for attempting to poison the public. Yet others have reacted by giving personal stories of their encounters with various food and vegetable vendors who had adopted rather unsanitary methods in the process of cooking or cleaning food meant for public consumption and purchase.
