Twitter Removes Verification Badges Of Popular Celebrity's and Others In Nigeria

Award-winning superstar singers Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid, as well as president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Peter Obi, Atiku, and others, had their Twitter badges revoked after violating Twitter CEO Elon Musk's new rules.

Last year, it was revealed that Twitter planned to start charging users close to $20 a month to be verified.

According to a source, Elon Musk will oversee the rollout of a premium service that includes this.

On Sunday, October 30, Musk, the new CEO of the social networking platform, stated in a tweet,

"The entire verification process is currently being redesigned".

The business also intends to increase Twitter Blue, an optional premium subscription that costs $4.99 per month, to $19.99 per month. That cost could, however, alter. The Verge published the story using internal communications and others with knowledge of the situation.

Failure to abide by his guidelines resulted in an individual losing their verification, which soci
al media users use to distinguish between celebrity's pages and those of regular people.

Twitter has begun removing celebrities' and prominent figures' Twitter badges in accordance with his promise.

The Nigerian celebrities and prominent figures lost their verification check marks since they didn't follow the regulations.
