The 2020 #EndSARS protest against police brutality in Nigeria appears not to have tamed the menace in Nigeria.
Near-daily, videos of police officers taking laws into their hands ranging from outright shooting of a suspect, battery, to dehumanization as seen in the embedded video below.
Only a few days ago, a trigger-happy police officer unlawfully killed a tricycle driver in Delta State over hundred naira bribe. Another video which showed moment a police inspector slapped and whipped a motorist with a stout stick also trended on the Nigeria social media space.
Sadly, the latest involves some students of the Imo State University being accosted by police officers who demanded access to their mobile phones.
According to report, the policemen stormed the students hostels and requested their phones. Unwilling to release their phones to the trespassing police officers, the students were thereafter lashed with matchet by the policemen.
