Bola Ahmed Tinubu identity, political career and educational background are not devoid of controversies with the latest being about his citizenship status in Guinea.
Popular investigative journalist, David Hundeyin who first published Bola Ahmed Tinubu's drug money forfeiture in the United States of America in 1993, has accused Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Nigeria's president-elect of dual citizenship and perjury.
According to David Hundeyin, Bola Ahmed Tinubu posseses a diplomatic passport of Guinea; hence, unfit contesting to become Nigeria's president. Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) form EC9 declaration, stated that he is only a citizen of Nigeria, a condition required to vie for the highest Political position in the country. However, if the allegation by David Hundeyin is true, it means that Bola Ahmed Tinubu might be prosecuted for perjury for lying about his dual citizenship status.
Through his Twitter handle with over 500,000 followers, David Hundeyin wrote:
"On Tinubu's INEC EC9 declaration, he stated that he has not obtained any other citizenship.
"But he has Guinean citizenship, with his Guinean passport stating clearly that he was born in Nigeria - which means he obtained Guinean citizenship.
Interestingly, Bola Ahmed Tinubu's possession of Guinean diplomatic passport has been linked to his alleged drug trafficking through Guinea to Europe. The African country is unofficially regarded as haven for illicit drug trafficking in Africa popularly referred to as "Guinea Conakry".
