A leaked phone conversation between the Labour Party's presidential aspirant Mr Peter Obi and General Overseer of Living Faith Church aka Winner's Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has been making the rounds on social media. In the allegedly doctored phone call, Mr Peter Obi was heard urging Bishop Oyedepo to help him with winning the elections by encouraging "his people" in the southwest as well as the Christians in Kwara state, to cast their votes in his favour. Bishop Oyedepo had told Mr Peter Obi that he looked forward to God's intervention.

In the recording, Mr Peter Obi had told Bishop Oyedepo that the election was a religious war with the Bishop affirming the assertion. Bishop Oyedepo had also replied that a sickly nation like Nigeria required a strong personality, he further prayed for Mr Peter Obi's victory at the polls while urging to "relax himself" and not be too bothered about the elections. Netizens have fired at the All Progressives Congress by stating that the party is responsible for the audio recording. Nigerians also stated that if the recording were indeed true, at least, Mr Peter Obi called upon religious leaders for help unlike the ruling party that employed the services of thugs and assassins.
