Zamfara state governor, Bello Matawalla Reveals How President Muhammadu Buhari Worked Against Him, Ganduje And El-Rufai



 The governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawalla who was defeated by the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the just concluded March 18th governorship election, has blamed president Muhammadu Buhari for his electoral loss. 

According to him, president Muhammadu Buhari frustrated his re-election bid because of his joining the law suit challenging the legality of the Buhari's administration money policy.  He explained that the president wanted to punish him, Ganduje of Kano State, and Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for joining in the suit challenging his administration's money policy at the supreme court.

According to him, president Muhammadu Buhari militarized the March 18th governorship election in Zamfara state, a show of his anti-democratic tendency .

“And I tell you, they were over 50 soldiers in our polling units in Zamfara. They were even straight about it that those voting for APC would not be allowed to vote. People were harassed and beaten because they wanted to vote for APC,” Mr Matawalle told DW Hausa in a post-election interview. “We all have this evidence on video. When we called soldiers to come to our aid, they didn’t come. But I have left everything to God.”
