Former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and incumbent governor of Anambra state, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo was the recipient of what netizens tagged "premium embarrassment" during the celebration of the governor's first year in office. The governor's speech had been interrupted by the entrance of the Labour Party's candidate in the 2023 presidential elections and also former governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi. Professor Soludo was sworn in as the fifth Governor of Anambra State on 17 March, 2023.

Governor Soludo who had been in the middle of addressing the gathering on the occasion of his first year anniversary in office, had erroneously assumed that the crowd had been cheering him on. Unknown to the governor, Mr Peter who had quietly walked into the venue had been sighted by crowd and this led to an eruption of jubilation and a standing ovation by the crowd and other dignitaries in attendance. Governor Soludo had unsuccessfully tried to regain the attention of the crowd. He grudgingly acknowledged Mr Peter Obi's arrival with the expression" the former governor is coming".
