In videos circulating the internet, two unidentified Nigerian men have been recorded tearing up their Nigerian paassports in anger and disillusionment. The men stated that following the electoral sham and other acts of thuggery, voters intimidation and votes manipulation, they've decided that Nigeria cannot be redeemed. Hence the decision to tear up the country's passport as well as totally disassociate themselves from the country.
One of the men who publicly tore up his passport that the current tribalism and bigotry heavily crumbling Nigeria's unity is a senseless one because, the Nigerian passport simply identifies every citizen of the country as "Nigerian". It doesn't matter what ethnicity or tribe the passport holder originates from. The two men who captured videos of themselves tearing up their Nigerian passports have possibly started a trend amongst Nigerians living in diaspora as many of them have been heard claiming that they're tempted to shred their own Nigerian passports.
