In a rather surprising turn of events, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has become the constant recipient of trolling and clapbacks from netizens. The Governor who made a post on Twitter urging Lagosians to reelect him as well as assuring them of his good intentions towards the city, received all kinds of reply from social media users. Babajide Sanwo-Olu was also called out by the Labour Party's governorship aspirant Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour for his silence and nonchalance towards the massacre that occurred at the Lekki Toll Gate in October 2020.
Netizens demanded that Sanwo-Olu gives an answer to the question "who ordered the shooting?" before he can think of a reelection bid. They further assured the governor that come March 11 2023, which is the date slated for the governorship elections, they intend to send him back to his god-father president elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The tweets where most netizens referred to Babajide Sanwo-Olu as "Jide", urged the governor to prepare in earnest to return to his "regular job'' of being Tinubu's "Personal Assistant". The governor hastily locked the comment section of his social media profiles after the unexpected replies to his post.
