A 28 year old resident of Gemade Estate Egbeda Lagos, has been given a sentence of community service for stealing three bottles of Tiger beer. The offender named Ibrahim Kuye upon interrogation, revealed to the magistrate court that he stole the bottles of beer out of frustration. Kuye was arraigned on March 23, 2023, before Magistrate O.A Ogunjobi, and was found guilty of a two-count charge of stealing and trespassing. Police reports revealed that Kuye had scaled a fence and broken into the house of a resident in the estate named Uche Uba, in order to quench his thirst. The estimated cost of the pilfered alcoholic beverage is said to be a sum of #1500 naira.

Kuye's community service sentence is to last for four hours daily over a specified number of days. He also received stern warning from the magistrate who cautioned on the dangers of being a repeat offender. Ibrahim Kuye's sentencing of community service was given at the Ogba Magistrate Court located in Ikeja Lagos. Stealing is an offence contrary to Section 306 and punishable under Section 306(2) of the 2015 Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria.
