Nigerian media personality, presenter, actor, model and crossdresser Adenrele Oluwafemi Edun better known as Denrele Edun, took to his social media platform to declare himself "a strong woMAN". The media personality in commemoration of the International Women's Day celebrated on 8 March, stated: "I am a strong woMAN because a strong woman raised me". Denrele further celebrated women all over the world in his post, especially his mother whom he referred to as "Mama Rele, The MFM Prayer Warrior".

Denrele accompanied his post with pictures of himself wearing a dress and hat alongside a fully made up face while he struck different feminine poses for the camera. Denrele emphasized that he channeled his "inner mum" for these shots while stating that the shots were taken for his 40th birthday. The media personality emphatically stated that he's fine as a man and also fine as a woman, while labelling himself "androgynous". Denrele has always been known for his rather unconventional fashion style and has stated that crossdressing is his way of expressing his "individual personality".
