The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Doguwa, has been remanded at a correctional facility by a Kano State Magistrates’ Court over charges of culpable homicide and arson.
It was gathered that after his arrest at
the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Tuesday, Doguwa was taken before
Court 58 of the Magistrate’s Court in Nomansland area of the state metropolis
Wednesday.
After the First
Information Report was read, the presiding magistrate, Ibrahim Yola ordered the
reman of Doguwa while adjourning the matter to March 7, 2023.
The Kano State Police through its Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Kiyawa,
had earlier averred that Doguwa was arrested in connection with a suspected
case of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, causing grievous hurt, mischief
by fire, and inciting disturbance.
