Reese was previously married to actor Ryan Philippe from 1999 to 2006. They have two children together, daughter Ava Elizabeth Phillippe, born on September 9, 1999 and son Deacon Reese Phillippe, born on October 23, 2003. On October 30, 2006, Witherspoon and Phillippe announced her separation from her first husband. She filed for divorce on November 8, 2006, citing irreconcilable differences.
