As the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential campaign council rounded off its campaign in Lagos yesterday, the Exola Tv has since the APC commenced its presidential campaign rallies, noticed that the vice president of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo was conspicuously absent from them all.
Recall that Professor Yemi Osinbajo who sought to succeed his principal, president Muhammadu Buhari was defeated by his former principal, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the APC's presidential primary election. Professor Yemi Osinbajo contested the APC's presidential primary election against Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom he served as his attorney general during his governorship administration in Lagos.
Consequently, many of Bola Ahmed Tinubu's supporters perceived Osinbajo's presidential ambition as he biting the finger that fed him. He was labeled a betrayer and traitor. He was expected to forgo his ambition for his former principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu the eventual winner of the APC's presidential primary election.
Interestingly, Osinbajo as the APC drew the curtain of its presidential campaign rallies in Lagos with president Muhammadu Buhari present, did not find it worthy to attend. The Exola Tv understands that professor Yemi Osinbajo has refused to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu's presidential ambition for obvious reasons ranging from his ill-health to his Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
However, the spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo had stated that professor Yemi Osinbajo's absence at the APC's presidential rallies was due to president Muhammadu Buhari's directive. According to Festus Keyamo, president Muhammadu Buhari instructed the vice president and the Secretary to the Federal Government to steer clear of political campaigns and concentrate on the running on the government.

"There was an official statement where the president directed Osinbajo and Boss Mustapha to stay off the campaign and work while he campaigned for APC", Festus Keyamo said in an interview
“We issued a statement to this effect last year.”
