Why The Northerners Do Not Want To Vote For Me– Kashim Shettima Cries Out

 The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima has decried his lack of herd support from the northerners. 

Kashim Shettima who emerged the running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu: a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, lamented over the northerners preference for the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar at his expense. 

Kashim Shettima who spoke in Hausa at the palace of the Emir of Daura, Katsina state, disclosed that the northerners do not want to support him because he is a Kanuri. 

“People are saying that I’m not Hausa. We have had people from the north who are not Hausa and they benefitted the north. Umar Musa Yar’adua, Buhari and others are examples.

“I’m not Hausa, but I am Fulani-blood related. I’m a Kanuri also, and I have benefit the north than the other,” he disclosed.

Kashim Shettima questioned why the northerners prefer Atiku Abubakar to him despite Atiku's lack of care and concern for the northerners. According to him, Atiku Abubakar served as the vice president of Nigeria for eight years but did nothing unique for the northerners nor mentor anyone.
