The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai in a broadcast to the residents of Kaduna State, countered the order of president Muhammadu Buhari over the Central Bank of Nigeria's Naira swap policy.
Recall that the Exola Tv reported that in a state of the nation broadcast, President Muhammadu Buhari informed Nigerians that the old naira notes of #500 and #1000 have ceased to be legal tender in the country. The president in conjunction with the CBN further extended the lifeline of the #200 till April 10th, 2023.
This order or rather declaration from the president came a few hours after the supreme court of Nigeria adjourned the pending case challenging the new Naira notes swap policy and timeline for the swap.
Interestingly, some State-governors who are understood to be haunted by the new directive from the president, resorted to rebellion. The governor of Kano State, Ganduje has publicly criticized president Muhammadu Buhari, urging the residents of his state to continue to transact by the old notes of #1000, #500 at the expense of president Muhammadu Buhari's declarative.
In similar fashion, governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has come under intense criticism by Nigerians who accuse him of belittling Nigeria's president and his statement to the Kaduna residents adjudged as treason.
