Nigeria's presidential election which held today 25th February, 2023 witnessed an unprecedented tension across the three major political parties in the country, as no one is certain which of three contenders is currently closer to becoming the next president of the country.
Many politicians in an uncharacteristic display made a show of making it to election polls alongside their spouses, to cast their votes for the preferred candidates and in some cases show solidarity for their political party. Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari flouted the rule of the secret ballot voting system by displaying his ballot paper, hence making it visible to the public whom the president had voted for. Muhammadu Buhari is a member of the All Progressive Congress and showed solidarity for the party's candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu via his ballot paper.
