The governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom who recently declared that he is willing and ready to forgo his senatorial ambition so as to support and ensure that Peter Obi's presidential ambition becomes a reality, has revealed that the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike betrayed the G-5 governors.

Ortom, a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) integrity group also known as G5, comprising the governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Gburugburu Ugwuayi; Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state; Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; and Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has claimed that Wike betrayed the group.

According to a statement credited to governor Ortom, the members of the G-5 agreed to support and work for the presidential ambition of Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP); however, governor Nyesom Wike went against the agreement of the members of G-5 by working for the presidential ambition of Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
