Confusion As Aisha Buhari Dares Her Husband, Issues Counter Directive To Nigerians On Old Naira Notes Use

 The wife of president Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha Buhari has caused confusion among Nigerians with her recent press release countering her husband, President Muhammadu Buhari's directive as well as the Central Bank of Nigeria on old Naira notes validity. 

Recall that president Muhammadu Buhari in a state of the nation broadcast, stated that the old Naira notes of #1000 and #500 have ceased to be legal tender in the country since on the 10th of February. President Muhammadu Buhari however ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria to reintroduce the old note of #200 into circulation untill April 10th.

Interestingly, in a contradictory statement, the wife of the Nigeria's president, Aisha Buhari revealed that she after having a meeting with the president, has been able to convince president Muhammadu Buhari to upturn his earlier decision. According to her, president Muhammadu Buhari has extended the timeframe for the old Naira notes usage to seventy (70) days.

However, the financial authority, CBN is yet to update Nigerians on the latest development.
