About eleven commissioners in Sokoto State have reportedly defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
There were reports that the state’s Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan Iya, resigned his membership in the main opposition party but a letter surfaced from his media office denying the report.
In the early hours of today a letter showed that Muhammad in a memo directed to the PDP Ward Chairman of the Kware Ward, Kware Local Government Area of the State had resigned his membership of the party.
But a press release from the Director of Press to the Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdullahi Abubakar described the reports as false and a blatant lie.
DAILY POST which broke the news is now reporting that the 11
members of Governor Tambuwal’s cabinet will be joining the APC as the
presidential candidate of the ruling party, Bola Tinubu, and his running mate,
Kashim Shettima, currently in the state for the campaign rally on Thursday.
The report says the defectors are expected to be officially received into APC
by President Muhammadu Buhari during the rally.
The report cannot be substantiated yet by Exola news.
