A 37 year old male identified as Oscarpolor Jimoh has been sentenced to 45 months in prison for travelling from Edinburgh to Leeds to meet a 13 year old girl in order to "celebrate" her birthday with her. The arrested paedophile had been confronted by the authorities for sexually grooming the child by asking intimate questions via phone. Jimoh also sent explicit suggestions and pornographic videos to the teenager while simultaneously instructing her on various ways to masturbate via WhatsApp.
After arranging to meet whom he thought was the girl, Jimoh was caught at Leeds Rail Station, and was found to have condoms and lollipops with him. Upon interrogation, Jimoh had initially claimed that he had only meant to surprise the teenager "for her birthday". He had spent 5 months communicating and indulging in sexual and intimate conversation with the girl until he decided to visit her in Leeds. Jimoh had also booked a cheap hotel where he had been hoping to spend time with the girl whom he had insisted via messages that she referred to him as "daddy".

After periods of denial and insistence on having a father-daughter relationship with the girl, Jimoh later pleaded guilty to five counts, including attempting to meet child following sexual grooming, attempting to incite child to engage in sexual activity and attempting to cause a child to watch sexual acts. He was sentenced to 45 months in prison, deportation after sentence completion and given a 10 year re-entry ban.
