The Exola Tv had reported that the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abeokuta yesterday, accused president Muhammadu Buhari's government of plotting to prevent him from winning the February 25 presidential election.
Tinubu alleged that the current fuel scarcity ravaging Nigerians as well as the Central Bank of Nigeria new financial policy which mandates Nigerians to exchange their old Naira notes for the new ones on or before 31st of January, 2023, are targeted at him and his presidential ambition.
However, in an interview with Nigeria's local newspaper, Premium Times, president Muhammadu Buhari declared that his administration is committed to a free, fair and credible elections and will not use his office to influence the outcome of the election.
He also noted that the CBN timeline for the new Naira notes exchange will not be shifted. According to him, the three month timeframe by the CBN is enough for Nigerians to swap their old naira notes for the new ones.
Recall also that the president has constituted a fourteen-man-committee to curb the ongoing fuel scarcity in the country.
