In a video gradually making the rounds on the internet shared by a TikToker with username @oracleofmoney2023, an unnamed clergyman was seen heavily berating the members of his congregation for giving #100 naira and #30 naira as offering in the church. The clergyman who expressed his disappointment in Igbo, stated that it was a huge shame for the church to keep giving such a paltry sum as offering. He cited the many expenses required to run the church smoothly and wondered how far a sum total of #350 naira donation in the offering box would go in taking care of these expenses.
The aggrieved clergyman cautioned his members to desist from donating such disgraceful sums. He further stated that being stingy in the house of God will make way for "outsiders" to come into the church and receive the blessings meant for the congregation. He urged them not to exhibit signs of "poverty" in the house of God as they do not serve a God of poverty.
