12-year-old Milagros Soto has unfortunately lost her life after trying a popular TikTok challenge.
The teenage Argentina girl died this week after she unsuccessfully attempted the deadly "choking challenge" made popular on TikTok.
She was found dead in her home after she reportedly participated in the viral choking challenge.
According to Argentina's local outlet, El Litoral, Milagros was found hanging from a makeshift noose.
Milagros aunt, Laura Lugue while speaking to Jam Press of the tragedy that occurred on January 13 in the city of Capitán Bermudez, Santa Fe Province said:
"We are inconsolable [because] we gave her so much love."
The “choking challenge”, also known as the "blackout challenge," is a dangerous stunt that encourages internet users to asphyxiate themselves until passing out.
The dangers of the stunt has been brought to the fore by experts as they warned that the bizarre viral trend is potentially dangerous and can result in fainting, brain damage, seizures and worse.
According to Jam Press, Soto had tried the challenge twice successfully, but had failed to remove the noose on the third attempt.
"On the third occasion, she could not remove the rope from her neck," lamented Luque of the fatal incident, which was reportedly captured on camera.
