Amid their ongoing infighting, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) seems not to be ready to put its household in order before the 2023 general elections.
A picture of the party's embattled chairman, Ayu Iyorchia and that of the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike trended on Nigeria's social media space on Wednesday. It was speculated that Ayu and Wike meet in Rivers State to settle their differences amid Wike's continual demand that he resigns as the national chairman of the PDP necessary for a southern national chairman to emerge.
Wike and the members of the G-5 are protesting against the domination of the Party's leadership by northern politicians especially as the presidential candidate of the Party is from the north.
Interestingly, Ayu Iyorchia while reacting through his media aide, Imobo-Tswam to the speculation that he met Wike in Port Harcourt, noted that a meeting of such did not take place.
He blamed the speculation on those he called mischief makers who are determined to spread misinformation and maliciously change the narrative.
statement by Imobo-Tswam reads: “Dr. Ayu states clearly that: He never travelled to Port Harcourt and he has not set eyes on Gov. Wike lately.

“The photograph trending on the social media is an old one. The story accompanying it is, therefore, false and mischievous.
“For the purpose of factual accuracy, that he is in no way embattled.
“The National Chairman is, rather, enjoying the New Year break with his family.”
