A Nigerian care home worker named Abiola Akinremi has been jailed in London for defrauding vulnerable patients at the home she worked. Akinremi pilfered almost 💷 20,000 pounds from the savings of the vulnerable patients in her care. She used her position as administrator at a facility named Bostall House located in Abbey Wood, Southeast London, to make dozens of unauthorized withdrawals from bank accounts of patients in her care.

41 year old Abiola Akinremi who is a mother of 3 and a resident of Tilbury Essex, who pled guilty, confessed to the court that she had first started stealing from residents whenever she needed money for child care and from then on, she stole to fund her lifestyle. The Judge, Angela Rafferty KC, rejected the plea for a suspended sentence and sentenced Akinremi to 7 months in prison while stating that her thieving was a repeated and planned course of conduct. She also declared that "it was a very serious breach of trust of vulnerable people".
