New Year Tragedy: CBN Staff, Wife Set Ablaze By Assassins, Son And Domestic Staff Abducted

 Mr. Kehinde Fatinoye, a staff of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and his wife were both murdered in cold blood by assassins on Sunday, January 1, 2023.


Fatinoye’s wife was a Principal Confidential Secretary at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, FUNAAB.

According to reports, the assailants had stormed the couple’s Ibara GRA residence after they just returned from the New Year crossover service, with further reports indicating that the couple was killed and set ablaze by their assailants inside their house.
Their son and domestic staff were also reported to have been taken away by the assassins.

While confirming the incident, the Ogun State police spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said: “It is true the incident happened. An investigation has commenced. Somebody has been arrested in connection with the incident. The man and his wife were killed and we are yet to find their child who was taken away.”

He further confirmed: “The incident happened after 12 in the morning. This is a clear case of assassination and we are not leaving any stone unturned to unravel those behind the killings.”
