Labour Party (LP) Chairman In Lagos, Salako Kayode Explains Why He Resigned As The Party's State's Chairman

News broke out yesterday that the state chairman of Labour Party (LP) in Lagos, Salako Kayode has resigned his position making the room for the women's leader, Mrs. Dayo Ekong to take over the mantle of leading Labour Party in the state.
However, many have been asking why the Salako Kayode resigned his position especially as he had earlier been accused of being a mole of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the party. Interestingly, while speaking to Channels tv, Mr. Salako Kayode explained that his resignation was necessary because he is the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for the Oshodi-Isolo Federal constituency 1 in the House of Representatives.
“I am the candidate of the party for the House of Representatives seat in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1. The election is about 40 days’ time and I need to concentrate to face the challenges,” Salako said.

He said the resignation was necessary for him to concentrate on his campaign and also ensure that the affairs of the party in state do not experience distraction.
