Comedian Bright Okpocha, better known by his stage name Basket Mouth, has received dragging and trolling from netizens for announcing his tour dates scheduled for February. The comedian whose tour is titled "UNPROVOKED" intends to be in Hamburg Germany on 25th February 2023, the date slated for Nigeria's forthcoming general elections. Nigerians have called the comedian names ranging from hypocrite to greedy because they did not expect that any influential figure would be unavailable to vote during the elections.

Basket Mouth responded to the trolls by stating that INEC never deemed it fit to check with him before fixing the date of the elections and he had picked February to host his tour long before INEC declared the election date. Basket Mouth was further called out by the public from a tweet he posted in 2015 where he had berated those who had been out of the country at the time of the general elections of 2015. The comedian has also been dragged for initially denying that his tour had been scheduled to coincide with the election date.
