A 29 year old African-American male identified as Brandon James has been arrested by the Louisiana Police for the murder of 54 year old Uber driver Yolanda Dillion. Yolanda worked for the New Orleans Police Department as a budget analyst and also moonlighted as an Uber driver in order to augment her income and take care of her 83 year old mother who had been diagnosed with cancer. She was her mother's only child.

Yolanda had picked up Brandon James and was conveying him to his destination when he stabbed her several times just as they reached the car park of his travel lodge. Brandon James went on to post a video of the dying Yolanda on Facebook. In his confessional statement to the police, the murderer revealed that he "woke up and decided that he was going to kill someone." Brandon James has been charged with second-degree murder as the police have tagged the brutal murder of Yolanda "a case of mindless violence".
