Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential election has been tongue-lashed by Nigerians on Twitter following his congratulatory message to Lionel Messi.
Lionel Messi and his Argentine teammates emerged the world champions at the just concluded FIFA world cup in Qatar after defeating France 4:2 in a penalty shootout. This was preceded by 3:3 fulltime draw that saw Lionel Messi scoring two for Argentina,. Angel Dimaria one and Kieran Mbape three for France.
Interestingly, Tinubu's congratulatory message to Messi through his Twitter handle has attracted varying reactions from Nigerians especially as he likened Messi's sought for world cup glory to his presidential ambition.
Tinubu had noted that it is his turn to become Nigeria's president; hence, he believes that Lionel Messi as well deserves the world cup title to crown his illustrious career: "Emi lo kan of Doha", he tweeted.
