Nollywood actor, producer and director Yul Edochie has stated that he is a very proud polygamist. He made this declaration which has generated quite a bit of online controversy on his social media platforms. It's no longer news tat a few months ago, Yul Edochie shocked social media and the entire lovers of Nollywood, when he married a second wife colleague, Judy Austin and introduced their love child to the world. Before his surprising marriage to Judy, Yul Edochie had been married to May Yul-Edochie for over 17 years and she only found out about the marriage on social media.

In his post, Yul declared that the bible acknowledges polygamy and directed the public to read Exodus 21 vs 10. He further revealed that God asked him to do it in order to give his son with Judy Austin an identity while also stating that polygamy came with blessings for himself and second wife Judy. Yul also wished for blessings on his first wife May, "to calm her down" as she would not be happy with his polygamy as a human being.
