Christiano Ronaldo, Edouard Mendy, Lautaro Martinez Others In FIFA Worst 11 Team Of The Tournament (See Full List)

The worst team of the FIFA 2022 world cup; placed at variance with the best team at the tournament has been released with Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo making the cut.

The former Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United attacker have had a torrid team recently. He was first axed from the Manchester United team after that infamous interview with Piers Morgan. He also managed to score just a goal in the world prestigious tournament in Qatar. He was able to manage a goal from a controversial penalty against Ghana.

He was later dropped to the bench by Coach Fernando Santos for their last-16 clash with Switzerland and their shock quarter-final defeat to Morocco.

There were reports that Christiano threatened to quit the Portuguese camp during a heated meeting with Santos after he found out he had been axed for the Switzerland game, but the claim was quickly denied by the country's FA and the player.

The 37-year-old  former world best player has now been included in the Sofascore worst team of the World Cup.

Statistics provider, Sofascore in its rating usually gives each player a score out of 10 for their performances at the tournament, with players who only made a minimum of four appearances in Qatar qualified to be included.

The Portugal team captain was named in the Sofascore side after scoring just 6.46 in the rating and is partnered up front by Lautaro Martinez, despite having won the world cup with Argentina.

Martinez, for failing to score for Argentina in Qatar in 148 minutes of action across the entire tournament, was given a rating of just 6.35.

Others who made the cut are Jackson Irvine and Mathew Leckie of Australia who was picked in the midfield alongside South Korea's Hwang In-beom and Switzerland's Ruben Vargas.

Kamil Glik and Bartosz Bereszyski of Poland, and Senegal centre-back Abdou Diallo were in the back four.

Chelsea and Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was selected as the goalkeeper in the worst XI with a rating of just 6.30, while US star, Sergino Dest, on loan at AC Milan, got a paltry rating of 6.50.
