To Adaobi Amadi's shock and her son's dismay, the kolo which ought to have contained as much as 20,000 naira or more, had only a torn 10 naira note in it. She lamented that her son had spent months diligently saving the money only to be met with this mystery. Following her tale, many Facebook users took to the comment section to narrate their own ordeals with what they termed a "diabolical kolo".

Apparently, the disappearance of money from the local saving box is a fairly common occurrence. Yet others opined that such diabolical antics are nonexistent and urged the school teacher to look towards household theft or some other logical explanation for the disappearance of her son's savings. Some have suggested that the vendor who sold Adaobi Amadi the kolo ought to be thoroughly interrogated as to this remarkably mystery.
