FIFA World Cup: Qatari Blows Hots, Threatens Pitch Invader Over LGBT+ Rainbow Flag In Portugal/Uruguay Match
Mohammed Al Kaabi, a Qatari journalist has bemoaned the conduct of an Australian LGBT+ right advocate, Marco Ferri who in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community invaded the pitch with a rainbow flag during Portugal's win over Uruguay on monday with a rainbow flag.


The rainbow flag associated with the LGBT+ group, a movement whose activities are deemed illegal in Qatar, the venue of the World Cup.


Al Kaabi took to Twitter to threaten the pitch invader in a tweet which reads : ''You come to our country , you know what makes us angry and you do it.

Marco Ferri had staged a public protest against Qatar at the FIFA World Cup, by invading the pitch during Portugal’s match with Uruguay at Lusail Stadium on Monday, November 28, 2022, to the consternation of the host county.

A serial pitch invader, Marco Ferri, who was a ticket holder, made the match to be briefly halted as security gave chase.



Before he was caught by security and Iranian referee Alireza Faghani, who is based in Australia, collected the flag and left it on the sideline, Feri had dropped his rainbow flag above his head in support of the LGBT community.


He also adorned a Superman T-shirt with the inscription ‘SAVE UKRAINE’ on the front and ‘RESPECT FOR IRANIAN WOMAN’ on the back.


Popular Qatari journalist, Mohammed Al Kaabi took to his Twitter page with over 417,000 followers to vent his dissaproval to Ferri's action.



 Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar, and FIFA had in solidarity with that decision had initially blocked fans from wearing rainbow attire inside stadiums, but due to severe backlash, overturned the decision during the first week of the tournament.
