Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido's first daughter, Imade Adeleke has apologised over a birthday post she made for the grieving singer, which was adjudged as insensitive.
Davido turned 30 yesterday, Monday, November 22, 2022 and Sophia had used her daughter's page to wish him a birthday. But what got the ire of netizens was the picture that accompanied the post. Imade had through the page managed by Sophia shared a family photo of all Davido's kids and this included that of late Ifeanyi.

It would be recalled that Ifeanyi died October 31, 2022 just few days after his birthday. He got drowned in his father's private swimming pool.
Captioning the photo, Imade via Sophia Momodu wrote:
"Happy birthday daddy! I wish you peace, joy and love".
The birthday post elicited reactions from netizens with many of them irked over the posting of late Ifeanyi in the birthday message.
Sophia was dragged and trolled for the post as many recalled that she did not mourn Ifeanyi publicly after his death.
Sophia Momodu has now issued a statement dated November 22, 2022 through Imade's Instagram page to apologise for her action.
She wrote:
“I realize that the earlier post may come across as insensitive and I sincerely apologize as that was not the intention.
Imade deeply loves her father and all her siblings, and as a mother, I’m doing my best to guide her through the difficult emotion of grief from the loss of her brother whilst trying to celebrate her father’s birthday.
I ask for your consideration and hope that you all can be understanding during these times.
